王天舒现任澳门沙金钢琴系主任;她同时兼任美国俄亥俄州首府大学音乐学院键盘系主任及终身教授。在此之前她曾任教于有百年历史的女子名校斯威特.布莱尔大学。王天舒教授早年曾就读于澳门沙金附中,1991年在上海音乐学院钢琴系毕业并留校任教,后赴美深造,于1999年在亚利桑那大学音乐学院取得钢琴演奏及室内乐博士学位。
作为国际施坦威艺术家,王天舒活跃于世界各地的舞台上,与许多知名交响乐团合作演出,如美国福莱格斯塔夫交响乐团、纽瓦克交响乐团、泰瑞霍特交响乐团、深圳交响乐团、青岛交响乐团、四川交响乐团等。她还与许多杰出的音乐家合作演出室内乐并首演新作品。她已经出版的CD主要有《与生俱来的温柔》(Born to be Mild)[钢琴与小号专辑]、《梦幻与舞蹈》(Dances and Dreams)[钢琴与长号专辑],以及《中国古典钢琴曲大全》(九州音像出版社)。她的最新独奏专辑《钢琴音乐神州行》(Piano in China)由美国阿尔贝尼音像出版社发行,好评不断,专访及评论文章见于美国权威唱片杂志Fanfare(《号角》)和American Record Guide(《美国唱片指南》)。
王天舒博士每年应邀在许多大学讲学,比如美国俄亥俄大学,加利福尼亚州立大学,安德森大学、印第安纳州立大学、肯特州立大学、曼谷师范大学、新加坡南洋音乐学院及中央音乐学院、四川音乐学院等等。她受聘于中央文化部、中国音乐家协会、中央音乐学院、中央电视台及美国音乐教师协会在国内外顶级钢琴比赛担任评委,并在2014CCTV钢琴大赛的决赛直播现场,登台做示范演奏。王天舒教授的学生在钢琴比赛中成绩优异,屡获殊荣。她曾是中国《钢琴艺术》及美国Capital杂志的封面人物。2011年,王天舒博士荣获美国首府大学最高荣誉“普列斯坦萨”勋章。她的传记被收入《美洲名人录》、《美国巾帼英雄榜》、《美国高校名人榜》及《世界名人录》中。
Acclaimedby the press as a “superbly talented pianist” who plays with “prodigioustechnique and eloquent phrasing”, Steinway Artist Tianshu Wang has graced concert stages in the United States, China,Mexico,Singapore,Thailand, and Taiwan. Invitations to perform in Europeare also in the offing. Winners of many competitions, including the nationalfirst prize, she is active in both solo and collaborative performance and hasperformed with major orchestras in Chinaand the United States.She has been a regular juror of National Piano Competitions in China since 2005 and has been seen on China’snational TV judging and performing. Respected as a distinguished artist andteacher in her native China,she was featured in a cover story of the country’s most prestigious pianomagazine, Piano Artistry.
Dr. Wangis currently a professor and head of the Keyboard Area at CapitalUniversity’s Conservatory of Music in Columbus, Ohio.She received the Praestantia Award for Distinguished Teaching in 2011, thehighest honor given to a faculty member at the university. Prior to Capital,she served as the piano faculty of SweetBriar Collegein Virginia.She is also a professor and chair of the Piano Department at the ShenyangConservatory of Music in China,where she teaches for part of the year.
Dr. Wangholds degrees from the University of Arizona (M.M. andD.M.A. in Piano Performance) and the Shanghai Conservatory of Music (B.M. inPiano Performance). Her teachers include Zhu Yafen, who also taught Lang Lang,and Nicholas Zumbro, a student of the legendary Rosina Lhévienne.
Dr.Wang’s studio at Capital University includes anumber of outstanding young pianists. Many of them are national andinternational competition winners. Upon graduation, these students go to themost prestigious graduate music schools to pursue higher degrees. They oftencome back to visit and perform from Eastman School of Music, Manhattan Schoolof Music, University of Michigan, Indiana University, University of CaliforniaLos Angeles, and Westminster Choir College, to name just a few.Most recently,she is featured in a cover story of the Capital Magazine, “Crossing theMusical Boarders”.
TianshuWang’s biography has appeared in Who’s Who in America,Who’s Who of American Women, andWho’s Who in China. The CD set “Encyclopediaof Chinese Classical Piano Music” in which she is featured as a majorperformer, has been a best seller in China;and her chamber music CDs, which were published by Albany and Mark Records, have been wellreceived by both the public and critics. Her solo album entitled “Piano in China” that was released on the Albany label was featured on the cover ofFanfaremagazine (March/April issue of 2012) with an extensive interview article andsome enthusiastic reviews.
